FAQ'S

Below you'll find answers to the questions we're asked the most!

  • What is microblading?
Microblading is a manual form of tattooing that creates a hair-like effect. The technique originated from the ancient form of Japanese tattooing called Tebori, meaning “hand engraved”. A small, sterile, disposable hand tool is used to implant pigment into the skin, replicating the look of eyebrow hair. The thin lines created flow in the same direction as existing brow hair, allowing the tattoo to blend seamlessly and naturally. Two appointments are included in your brow investment.
  • How long does it last?
Depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare, microblading can last anywhere from 6 months to 3 years or longer. In order to keep your brows looking fresh, a touch up is recommended every 2 years. Please understand that microblading is a process that requires multiple sessions. Patience is a must to achieve a lasting, beautiful brow. Occasionally a third touch up is necessary for certain clients where the pigment does not take as well to the skin, for guests starting with minimal to no existing brow hair, or for guests who desire a bolder look. Factors that will cause your eyebrow tattoo to fade faster: Sun exposure, Smoking, Iron Deficiency, Exfoliants, Exposure to Salt Water, Strong Immune Systems, Anti Aging Skin Care, Anti Acne Skin Care, Chemical Peels, Chlorine, Diabetes, Thyroid conditions.
  • Does it hurt?
While the process is not completely painless, strong topical anesthetics are used to help keep you comfortable. Every guest’s pain tolerance is different and we will take every action possible to keep the discomfort minimal. A lot of our guests actually fall asleep during their service, so don't worry too much!
  • What do I need to do before and after my appointment?
Please reference our Pre & Post Care page for detailed instructions.
  • Is anyone a candidate?
Unfortunately not! There are specific candidacy requirements for your health and safety and best service outcome. Please click here to see if you are a good candidate for permanent makeup.
  • How much does it cost?
Please see our list of artists and pricing here.
  • How long is the appointment?
You can expect to spend 3-4 hours at your initial appointment depending on your artist. Touch up appointments are about 1.5-2 hours.
  • How do you choose shape and color?
Shape, size and placement are all dependent on your anatomy. We will take careful measurements of your face and then draw a template on your brows so you have an idea of what to expect. Please note that we cannot give you a brow that doesn't work with your anatomy or current shape! If you would like to fill in your brows before your appointment to show us your makeup preference, please do. Color choice is based on your skin tone and existing brow hair. Please do not arrive with a tan or sunburn as we cannot properly assess your skin tone.
  • What will they look like afterward?
Immediately after you can expect your brows to be slightly bolder, thicker, or sharper than you are used to. We suggest avoiding big events or vacations near your appointment to allow for proper healing. Most guests will experience slight tenderness for a day or two. For some guests, their new brows will feel completely wearable, and most even wish the pigment healed as dark as appears initially.
  • What is the maintenance like?
We recommend color boosts between 24-36 months. Your tattoo must be faded at least 60% before we can work on you again! Please read more about color boosts here.
  • Can I still get Botox, fillers and facials?
Both Botox and Fillers can alter the look and shape of skin on the face. Fillers must be done 4 weeks pre or post procedure. Botox can change the lift of your brow, so please wait to have Botox injections after your brows are completed. We need natural movement in the brow and forehead! Any facials must be done 4 weeks prior or 4 weeks post service, as your skin will be too sensitive to work on.
  • Can I still wax and tweeze my brows?
Do not wax or tweeze your brows for at least two weeks leading up to your appointment. The more hair for us to work with, the better! Once your permanent makeup is completely healed, you may resume regular shaping.
  • Should I wear makeup to my appointment?
Wearing makeup to your appointment allows your artist to gain an idea of your preferred shape and/or color choice. While we always do our best to accommodate your requests, it is very important to understand a few boundaries surrounding permanent makeup! Your brow shape is determined by your existing brow hair, bone structure, and face shape. Your brow color is determined by your skin tone and natural eyebrow hair. If you prefer a bolder eyebrow that is darker than your natural brow hair, you will still need to add makeup to your permanent makeup. It is critical that we match your brow hair color as closely as possible to ensure a natural result.
